Common Name: Serissa, Snow Rose,tree of a thousand stars

 

Latin Name: Serrisa Japonica

 

Origin: sub tropical countries

 

Position:  Needs a sunny position that is wind protected it is a tree that is sensitive to changing position and does not like cold winters

 

Watering: It is important to water the serissa generously as it doesn’t like to dry out

 

Feeding: use a fertilizer with a balanced N-P-K ratio every 4 weeks in the growing season

 

Pests and Diseases:  spider mite and aphids can attack the serissa use a pesticide to keep them safe and try and increase humidity. They can also suffer root rot if left in constant water.

 

Repotting:  Repot every 2 years but only root prune moderately.
