Latin Name: Acer palmatum
Origin: Japan, China and Korea
Position: Maples like to be in a morning sun, airy position they do not like hot full sun and to give full potential you need to give it a cold temperature in winter.
Watering: Watering is generally every day, twice a day if extreme summer temperatures are around. Maples prefer slightly acid pH levels

Feeding: Maples need to be fed twice a year in spring and autumn. Avoid fertilizer with high nitrogen as it promotes large leaves and internodes.
Pests and Diseases: Maples are quite hardy plants however they can be affected by aphid and may need a spray with insecticide.
Repotting: Needs to be done every 2 years using a very well draining soil.
